A couple of weeks ago, our Hudson (aka Huntsman as a couple of his mates call him) turned four. Four years old! Given that his love for all things Paw Patrol has not wavered, we decided to throw a Fireman Marshall party, and enlist the services of some local legends to help us celebrate at home. This year, we have both been under the pump majorly with work, so outsourcing was the only way that I could pull off a party at home. Luckily, thanks to some very talented local businesses, we were able to put together a little party for 18 of his mates. Whilst it costs a little more to outsource, in my mind it saves a hell of a lot of time and effort. Time is money after all! If any of you have ever wanted to do something different for your four year old, then I guarantee you, you will love this.
Fire Engine Adventures
After attending a party of our dear friends last year, I decided to enlist the help of Graham from Fire Engine Adventures. Graham brings a fully kitted out vintage fire truck directly to your home. Fitting approx ten children in the back (or more of they are smaller), together with the help of some very responsible adults who offer to help, Graham takes the kids for a few laps of your local area, to the tunes of the Wiggles in the back. I’ve been lucky enough to ride in the back, and first and foremost, it is totally safe. The kids have an absolute ball waving at everyone they drive passed, and when Graham turns the siren on, well they are in heaven! When you finish your trips, Graham pulls out a few canisters loaded with water. The kids have a go at squirting who ever you choose (namely the Dads), and can even have a go on the motor powered hose. Finishing with a tour of the front seat…it truly is a wonderful and unique idea.
For our hour visit, Graham’s fee was $299.
Hire Furniture
We hired our tables and red chairs directly from Mini Party People. The red theme made it super easy to make everything look bright and colourful. The red plastic chairs were the perfect height for the children, and the two tables made it easy for them to sit together and eat. We even got the red table cloths too!
Cake and Donuts
We once again had La Manna Patisserie bake the most amazing custom Paw Patrol Cake, along with the most delicious red paw donuts. Scrolling through their Instagram feed, I saw a previous party they had done with a similar theme, and I just requested to use mainly reds and blues. We chose chocolate mud cake and it was honestly awesome.
Cupcakes and Biscuits
Jodie from Cupcake Occasion does all of my cupcakes and biscuits and this year her creations were my favourite. Her fireman cupcakes with custom fondant, along with the round pressed bikkies with ‘Ready to Pawty’ and ‘Hudson turns 4’ were delicious. Seriously, Jodie is your go to for anything cupcakes!
Lolly Boxes
This year, instead of lolly bags, I found these adorable lolly truck boxes on e-bay. Kids tend to just chuck the lolly bag away, and so this year I wanted to do something different. The boxes meant that kids could play with them after eating the treats on the inside! At $8 for 12, they were seriously a fantastic alternative. You can find them here.
Party Decor
Once again, e-bay was my friend, and I found the cutest fire engine plates here.I also purchased a set of fireman hats for all of the kids here (12 for $17).
Grazing Board
Not wanting to forget the adults, this year I purchased a Grazing Board from ‘Just Grazing Through‘. A local new business from Moonee Ponds, they have six different boards to choose from in three different sizes. We chose the ‘Notorious’ Board which was 52cm and fed 20 people. To be honest, the content of the board was VERY generous and I think it could have easily served 30. Such a great service as they drop it off and pick up the board when you are done. The most beautiful cheeses, meats and sweet treats! Almost too lovely to eat!
We had such a fantastic day and the best part was the weather. Thank God it didn’t rain….we just got a little wet from all of the fun!
